f1 Vettel clinches title in Brazil
Sebastian Vettel clinches third World Title 2012 Champions RedBull Racing & Sebastian VettelBrazil Top 3: Button, Alonso and Massa

Sebastien Vettel grabs his 3rd consecutive World Championship with terrific come back after a terrible Lap1 mishap. The incident packed dramatic race was full of action and excitement from  start to finish and Vettel overcame all odds to claim his title with a worthy drive while Fernando Alonso could not help himself any more to stop Vettel from winning it even though he managed to finish 2nd after starting 7th on the grid.

Button won the race under the safety car as Force India´s Paul Di Resta crashed heavily on the penultimate lap which brought out the safety car. While pole man and early leader Hamilton was taken out by Nico Hulkenberg of Force India.

At the start it was McLaren's Lewis Hamilton who got away cleanly even as the track was cold and the skies drizzling. The two McLarens got away cleanly while both Red Bulls of Webber and Vettel made a bad start and was overcome by the Ferraris of Massa and Alonso. On the exit turn 1 Alonso managed to get ahead of a rival Vettel but as everyone was hoping the worse happened for Vettel on turn 4 when turned in too early on Bruno Senna and causing a crash and spining out while hit by the cars behind. Moments before Vettel hit Senna, Raikonnen over braked and missed the corner going straight into the run off area with a huge smoke and spray which might have caused Vettel to turn in early in a bid to avoid Raikonnen. It happened so fast that the Lotus could have taken out the Red Bull but Raikonnen managed to avoid Vettel while Vettel himself hit Senna in the following moments.

Vettel's first lap incident was huge shocker for Red Bull while it seemed as a big gift for Alonso's title hopes. Vettel managed to turn around and got moving in the race, he was told that his damage was not curable on the pits and he had to continue as he had a left side broken exhaust chamber. To everyone's surprise and to the heart break of Alonso fans, Vettel was galloping ahead in full speed and started to move ahead of the field from 22nd to 6th with in a span of 8laps.

As the McLaren duo of Hamilton and Button were fighting out in the front for the lead and Nico Hulkenberg of Force India charging behind in third and Alonso behind Massa the championship balance shifted towards Vettel from Alonso.

Button got ahead in lead with Hamilton and Hulkenberg behind.

As rain started to pour in the top runners Hamilton, Alonso and Vettel pitted in for Inters but immediately the rain stopped as Button indicated in his radio and didnt pit in and gain speed after few laps over the intermediate runners. Hamilton's pace dropped and he pitted immediately for slicks and so followed Alonso while Force India's Nico Hulkenberg sweeped past the McLaren of Button for the lead.

Meanwhile Vettel was also told to pit and he rejoined right behind Alonso's Ferrari while Nico Rosberg caught a debris and was affected by a slow puncture. Alonso too complained about too much debris on the track so the Safety Car was deployed. This was used to their advantage by Hulkenberg and Button to pit in and come out without losing track position under the safety car.

After the safety car restart Hamilton overtook Button to charge towards Hulkenberg's Force India but the German driver deflected the pressure from the Brit to maintain a steady gap for a while until going too deep to touch the white line and half spinning to give away the lead to Hamilton.

Vettel was hit by another bad luck as his radio communication broke and was told to pit and he did for a new medium slicks and rejoined 10th but the track goes more wet with steady drizzle and few other incidents on track force Vettel to change to Intermediate tires.

At the front as Hamilton was caught behind a lap down Caterham, Hulkenberg tries an overambitious move to grab the lead by outbraking Hamilton and the Caterham resulting in a slide which hits out the McLaren of Hamilton to retire with a broken nose and front. Hulkenberg is penalized for the accident with drive thru and Button moves into the lead with Massa and Alonso behind and Vettel back into 7th. Alonso pits for inters as Button and Hulkenberg pit for inters.

Massa gives way to Alonso to go 2nd and Schumacher lets Vettel to grab 6th which was enough for the Red Bull driver to clinch the championship.

As no major incidents happened it surely looked clean for Vettel to take his 3rd consecutive title. Alonso could do nothing more or even think of a challenge to Button for victory.

The laps came tumbling down towards the close of the season, Force India's Paul Di Resta shuntted heavily on the penultimate lap causing the Safety Car to come in again and the race was finished under it giving Button the victory and handing Vettel the driver's title of 2012.

The final race of the season was thriller to the end and the championship swinged from lap 1 and eventually settling on the hands of a worth winner Sebastian Vettel who overcame all odds against him to grab it.

Meanwhile Alonso took few moments to realize the loss but was happy for the efforts and was commended for his consistent drives all season with a bad car and apprehending the performance of the ill struck Ferrari in each and every race with a podium. Alonso finished 2nd along with team mate and home boy Massa in 3rd. Webber was 4th, Hulkenberg 5th, Vettel 6th and retiring multiple champion Schumacher on 7th.

J E Vergne on the Torro Rosso was 8th followed by Kobayashi (Sauber) and Raikonnen of Lotus finishing the top 10. Rosberg finished 15th and Narain finished 18th out of 18 cars to cross the line in what could be his last race in F1 too.

A well deserved action for the specators for the season finale and this year could not be forgotten for its 8 different winners in a year.

The season draw to a close with emotional good bye from F1 by Schumacher, a out of words speech by newly crowned consecutove triple world champion Vettel and the youngest too. Hamilton's good bye drive for McLaren was commended by a perfect pole and race lead but was spoiled by a fault not his own. Button had luck to win the race and Vettel had more and more luck to win the title.

Many drivers may loose their drives from F1 including Senna, Kovaleinen, Kohayashi, De la Rosa and Narain while many new comers will enter the paddock next season including 21yr old Mexican rookie Esteban Gutierrez.

One year draws to a close and the excitement of the next year will start. Looking forward for 2013.
